More Than Just a Festival
A community event with a deeper purpose
The Rappahannock Art and Music Festival is not only a celebration of local art, music, and creativity. It is also a way to bring people together in a welcoming public space where they can connect with one another, encounter new ideas, and feel more rooted in the life of the community.
Hosted by the League of Women Voters of the Fredericksburg Area, this festival is part of our Unite & Rise initiative to strengthen community ties, reduce isolation, and create accessible entry points into civic life. We believe healthy democracy depends on more than voting alone. It depends on trust, participation, and a sense that we are part of something shared.
Art brings people in. Community keeps them connected. Civic life grows from there.
Community Conversations Throughout the Day
Throughout the festival, we are hosting short, guided small-group conversations on local issues, organizations, and community life. These circles are welcoming, low-pressure, and open to anyone who wants to listen, share, or learn. Find the schedule and topics below.
