Empowering Voters. Defending Democracy.

Our Region
We serve the City of Fredericksburg as well as the counties of Spotsylvania, Stafford, Caroline, and King George.
Who We Are
The League of Women Voters of the Fredericksburg Area is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to encouraging informed and active participation in government. We bring people together to learn about public issues, engage with their community, and strengthen our democratic system.
Through education, discussion, and advocacy, we work to increase understanding of important public policy issues and promote thoughtful civic participation across the Fredericksburg region.
The League never supports or opposes political parties or candidates. Our commitment is to voters, informed participation, and a healthy democracy.
Our Role in the Community
The League of Women Voters works to strengthen democracy in the Central Rappahannock region through advocacy, education, and community engagement. Our work takes several forms:
Advocacy & Public Policy
After careful study and member consensus, we advocate for policies that serve the public interest. Our League speaks out on issues affecting our community and encourages transparent, accountable government.
Voter Services & Civic Education
We provide nonpartisan information about elections, voting, and public issues so that every voter can participate with confidence. Through resources like candidate forums, voter guides, and educational programs, we help voters stay informed.
Community Engagement
Our League creates welcoming spaces where neighbors can come together to discuss important issues, learn from one another, and build a stronger civic culture in our region.
