Your Government

Local Government Guides

The Commonwealth of Virginia is organized in many ways: Election Districts, Counties, School Districts, Regional Planning Districts, etc.

The League of Women Voters of the Fredericksburg Area is responsible for Planning District 16 which includes Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, and Caroline Counties and the City of Fredericksburg.

The goal of the Local Government Guide is to provide information about the government offices, positions, committees, and commissions that affect Fredericksburg Area. This directory is a work in progress and will need to be continually updated as laws, elections, policies, and positions change. (Local boards, committees, and commissions will be added in phase 2.)
