CRIMINAL JUSTICE FORUM – APRIL 29, 2023

On April 29, 2023, FailSafe-ERA and the League of Women Voters – Fredericksburg Area
chapter were pleased to host a state General Assembly candidate panel at the Criminal Justice Reform Forum along with Germanna Community College. The responses to 3 questions were posed to as many candidates for electoral districts as possible serving our area. We received answers from 6 candidates, 4 of whom were able to attend and participate in person and all are posted below.

The League’s study group for criminal justice reform worked to bring the candidate panel to the annual event with Failsafe-ERA, which is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides reformative strategies to empower and restore hope to families impacted by incarceration through our Right Road and Caring Connections to Prevent Generations of Incarceration Programs. Their core purpose is to foster positive change in the lives of individuals and families affected by incarceration by providing strategies to improve outcomes. Their holistic approach to community reentry is for the whole family to promote family bonding, healing, and independent living. Failsafe-ERA serves Virginia’s Planning District 16 (Fredericksburg City and Counties of Spotsylvania, Stafford, King George, and Caroline).
